More About Sunday Services

The Interfaith Center for Spiritual Growth has been a dynamic community of spiritual seekers for 25+ years. Each Sunday we gather to explore and grow from universal truths from all spiritual paths. Our services include a  short meditation and reading, music, an in-depth talk by a minister or guest speaker, an open-mic time to discuss the talk,  and community greetings.

Founding Minister David T. Bell

Sunday services may draw upon sources as diverse as the poetry of Rumi, a teaching from the Buddha, a story about Jesus, a Jewish chant, and a reading from A Course in Miracles.

Prayer, singing, and community announcements open our Sunday celebrations.  We take a few moments to greet each other with “Namaste” (Sanskrit for “the Divinity in me salutes the Divinity in you”). Each week also features guest musicians, a spiritual  reading and a guided meditation. These are offered by volunteers and expose us to diverse practices and perspectives.

The core of our shared learning is a lesson by one of our ministers or a guest speaker each Sunday, followed by Open Mic time. Open Mic is a time for spontaneous responses to the morning’s teachings. Anyone canshare a question, struggle, or insight. Honest sharing connects us and helps us ground new spiritual insights in the reality of daily living.

We close by singing a Sufi benediction.
