Club 704

Club 704 is back!

There are so many up-and-coming musicians (and new combinations of “old” ones) in the Ann Arbor area -now Club 704  will give you a chance to hear them!  A new addition to the Interfaith Center calendar, Club 704 will happen on the fourth Saturday of each month.  Keep coming to Cafe 704 too, on second Saturdays!

Next up: October 26 – World Music Duo

VornHagen & Kaufman —  World Music Duo

Newly formed in 2018,  this eclectic world music duo is a collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Paul VornHagen   (flutes, ocarina, clarinets, saxophones, latin percussion, vocals and congas) and percussionist Aron Kaufman (congas, cajon, RAV drum, dumbek, djembe, calimba and more).  World Music Duo features all original compositions and improvised explorations of rhythms from South America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa and beyond.  This music is atmospheric and meditative as well as upbeat and danceable.

Paul and Aron first began performing together in the 1980’s as members of the award winning combo, the Lunar Glee Club, which later became the Lunar Octet (reformed in 2015).  They also  perform in Paul’s Afro-Cuban combo, Tumbao Bravo, winner of 3 Detroit Music Awards, as well as Aron’s combo, The Dream Ensemble.  A recording of this duo will be released in 2020.
